Dorothy Deane Eek died peacefully on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Fairfax Hospital. She was born September 28, 1936 in Duluth, Minnesota, to Dewey Nathan and Florence Belle (Jones) Lindeman.
She grew up in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. In 1947, her family moved to Billings, Montana where she graduated from High School in 1954, and graduated from University of Montana in Missoula in 1957. She earned a BA in Liberal Arts, graduating with honors and membership in Mortor Board and Phi Kappa Phi. She moved to the Washington DC area in 1958 when her first husband accepted a position with the CIA. She was a stay-at-home mom until 1979 and then worked as a Bank Teller before accepting a position with the CIA.
She is survived by her deeply beloved husband Col. (Ret) Lauris M. Eek, Jr and by other loved and admired family members: sister and husband Kathryn and Gilbert T Bremicker of Toledo, Ohio, daughter Judy Smith of Pennsylvania, grandchildren Nikki and Ryan, Stepdaughter Jeanne Eek and Stepson, Lauris M. Eek III.
She was preceded in death by her parents;, daughter, Cynthia Jane and brother, Thomas H. Lindeman. Her first husband Harold passed away in 1994.
A memorial service will be held at Vienna Baptist Church on February 11 at 2:30 PM. In lieu in flowers, donations may be made to Vienna Baptist Church.
