Guestbook

  1. Our condolences to the entire Schmitt and Baker families on the passing of “Dot”. She will be surely missed by all who knew her.

  2. Dear Keith and the Schmitt Family, I am sending my love and prayers as I join others in remembering your wonderful Mom. Her gifts to each of you and her grandchildren and great grandchildren will live on. I remember my years at DJO in Arlington, VA and my family and yours were a big part of O’Connell and happy times. God Bless your Mom an angel. Blessings to all. Love, ~ Kathy

  3. I was so sorry to hear that Dot had passed away. The Schmitts used to live a few doors down from us when we lived on Penguin Place. Dot was my mother Marys favorite person in the neighborhood. They gave each other a lot of support as they suffered through their childrens teenage years. The mother of four boys and the mother of three girls often compared notes about raising their two tribes. My parents missed the Schmitts after they moved to Vienna, but my mom kept up with Dot by phone. It was a pleasure to have the Schmitts at my wedding 12 years ago and for my father and I to attend the Schmitts 50th wedding anniversary. Dot was a great person. Her caring attitude and humor will be much missed if I close my eyes I can see her smile and hear her laugh. My sincere condolences to Dots family at this sad time.

  4. To the Baker and Schmidt Families… Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Aunt Dot was truly a strong strong person battling all her ailments and witnessing Aunt Betts passing not to long ago! To Uncle Paul you are a strong person with such a big and kind heart. Our prayers and thoughts are especially with you during this time of sorrow and joy!! I can’t imagine Aunt Dotty being anywhere else but with her sister dancing the Irish Jig up there!!!! May God watch over you all….

  5. To Keith and the Schmitt Family: All your friends and colleagues at Chautauqua Institution send their sincerest sympathies at this time of loss. Sharing time with your mom on the back porch of the Amp every summer was a joy. Thanks for the memories and take solace in the fact that she loved her family.

  8. I have enjoyed working for Mr and Mrs Schmitt for the last 13 years. While cleaning their house she used to talk to me about life and other stuff, one thing that I remember is that she was very proud of her grand kids . Mr Schmitt my prayers are with you and your family. I will really miss her.

  9. May fond memories of your loved one help you through this loss. We are thinking of you, Mark, Jennifer and family. With sympathy, Kevin and April Herbert

  10. Keith posted on Facebook that he has an awesome family and that is surely true. Aunt Dot (as I always knew her) was a most awesome presence in this family: a loving and supportive mom, wife, aunt and grandma and a wonderful friend. She had great warmth and humor as well as enormous toughness and a zest for life to the end. My deepest sympathies to the whole awesome family, especially Uncle Paul who was always by her side for over 50 years. I feel so fortunate to have known her.
