Of Vienna, VA, formerly of Council Bluffs, Iowa, died on Friday, December 9, 2011 at her residence with her family by her side. Loving wife of 47 years to the late Col. Daugherty M. Smith, devoted mother of Mason E. (Judith) Smith, Donald B. Smith, Stephan G. (Roberta) Smith, Christine M. (David) McKee, Annette L. (William) Mashbum, Mark D. (Margaret) Smith and the late Gary F. Smith. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Ann Smith, brother Marshall (Barbara) Heck, 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Dorothy's name.
