Obituary: Dorothy Pearl Rodier Moran
Dorothy died surrounded by family on February 24, 2016 in Vienna, VA at her daughter's home. She was born on September 7, 1926 in Vienna, VA to the late Louis and Anna Rodier. Dorothy is survived by her devoted children Thomas (Karen) Moran and Patricia Moran DeLeon, loving grandchildren, Bradley and Brittany DeLeon and Travis and Stephen Moran. She is preceded in death by her husband George B Moran; son-in-law, Joseph DeLeon; siblings, Mary Martin, Ruth, Vernon and Louis E. Rodier. She is survived her sister Edith Rodier Mellott and a host of loving family members and friends.
Dorothy graduated in 1944 from Fairfax High School. She worked at the C&P Telephone Company, where she met her husband, George. They married in May 5, 1955. She was a lifelong fan of the Redskins and the Senators and later the Nationals. In 1986 Dot and George retired to Florida. She returned to the northern Virginia in 2006.
Relatives and friends are invited to Dorothy's Life Celebration at Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church, Trapp Road, Vienna, VA. The family will receive family and friends at 3:00 the funeral service will begin at 3:30pm; Interment will follow at Andrew Chapel Cemetery located at the corner of Trap Rd. and Route 7, Vienna, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund (curealzfund.org) or Capital Caring Hospice
