Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Bernie was the kindest and gentlest man I met during my long career at BDM. I remember with fondness the wisdom he shared with us, and the adventures of his trips, especially his trip to Spain. May God’s promise of eternal life be a comfort to his family in the loss of one so dear. He will always be remembered in our hearts.

  2. Dr. Dunn gave so much to students — his time, his advice, his warmth & humor, his resources. Because of his and Anne-Marie’s vision, generations of pharmacists will be educated to care for all of our families for years to come. We will miss him greatly, Tracy Fitzsimmons President, Shenandoah University

  3. Bernie was always an inspiration to us with his kindness, integrity and gentle humor. We are blessed to have known him since our early days at BDM, and we will truly miss him. He will always be remembered in our hearts. Our prayers are with his family. May you find comfort in this time of great loss.

  4. Dear Ann-Marie, I am so sorry to hear about your father. My words of condolences to you, mother and rest of the family. Un abrazo, Pedro

  5. Anne-Marie, I was sorry to hear about your father. I still remember him from the time we visited him and your mom. You and your family are in my prayers.

  6. Dear Anne Marie, Erma and I are so sorry to hear about your father’s passing. You and your family must be going through a difficult time now. I didn’t know your father well but had the honor to meet him years ago at your wedding. He was a perfect gentleman and host. Keep well, Anne Marie. Much Love, Greg Mellinger

  7. Delta, Maddie and I would like to extend our sincerest sympathies to the Dunn family. While our time spent with Bernie was limited, we truly enjoyed his company and hospitality when opportunity allowed and came to appreciate him as a person as reflected in his daughter, Anne Marie, our friend and neighbor.

  8. We mourn the dear one who shared with us our first cruise. We know that he lives in joy now and waits for us to come to share it with him. Joyfully in Christ Patti and Bill Schneider

  9. Dear Anne Marie, Frank joins me in sending our thoughts and prayers to you and your family. We were privileged to have known Bernie and fondly remember his sense of humor. He was such a dear man. All our best at this difficult time.

  10. Dear Anne-Marie and all of the family: You have our deepest condolences and sympathy. Hoping that your happy memories can sustain you during this sorrowful time along with knowing that you are in the thoughts and hearts of the many, many people whose lives were enhanced and enriched just by knowing Bernie Dunn, as well as the many more who don’t even know their lives were touched by his co-founding of BDM. My years at BDM contain some of my proudest moments and fondest memories. We share in your loss of a wonderful, gentle man. Love,

  11. Your kindness and generosity will be greatly missed at the Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy. I was looking forward to shaking your hand when I get my diploma this year at graduation. Please know that you leave a great legacy in all of the students.

  12. Our dear Bernie is gone but remains in our thoughts and hearts. We knew him for over forty years and have so many fond memories of spending time with him and his cherished “Dolly”, Anne-Marie.I told them once that they were my Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn. Our love to the family. Jan and Red

  13. “Bernie.” A true Rocket Scientist. Who loved “Dolly” passionately and faithfully his whole life. Enjoyed his life, as reflected in stories told with modest humor. Would thoughtfully explain almost anything. Four children and their spouses of whom he was very proud. Seven grandchildren, all who made him smile and tell stories about them. Honesty. Integrity. A wonderful sense of humor and generous benefactor to education, health and many other good causes. A big man in so many ways. We will remember him warmly and fondly, and miss him greatly.

  14. As a fellow BDMer, I enjoyed the opportunity to work with Bernie. He was always a gentleman. My condolences to his family.

  15. I met Dr. Dunn only a few times–at Anne-Marie and Dave Hobbs’ wedding (I’m a friend of theirs), and a few times at the Dunn’s home, where Dr. Dunn and his wife were always gracious hosts. I have fond memories of spending a couple of hours looking at the stars with Dr. Dunn, through his telescope, and seeing what a kind person he was–even to relative strangers. I feel honored to have known him and his family.

  16. During the early days of BDM, Bernie drove a TravelAll. It was a high-bed vehicle and Bernie looked like a true gentlemen sitting high on the seat, smoking his pipe. Each time I saw Bernie leaving his TravelAll, I tried to buy it from him, thinking I might get some of his male elegance. It got to be a private joke between us. I did eventually buy a new TravelAll but never got any of Bernie’s elegance.

  17. In my years of working with him, I came to appreciate that Bernie was always a steadying influence in the midst of turmoil. His technical capabilities contributed significantly to the successful completion of cutting edge analysis, and he often brought calm to the heated environment of competing ideas. He and his efforts will be long remembered.

  18. Anne-Marie & Dave, Our prayers are with you and your families as you go through this tough time with the loss of your father and fahter-in-law. I have asked my brother, Father Bill Garrott, O.P. to keep Bernard and his family in his prayers. Bill is a Dominican priest and Director of Vocations in Washington, D.C. Sincerely, John and Susan Garrott

  19. In my years of work at BDM, I remember Bernie as being admired and highly respected by everyone. He touched the lives of many people and he will be greatly missed.

  20. After twenty-five years of working at BDM with Dr. Dunn, I know Bernie Dunn to have been a truly good man. I would liked to have thanked Dr. Dunn for his technical and personal help. My condolences to his family at this time. Charles Somers and family.

  21. After so many fond years spent at BDM–it was truly the founders of the company that made it one huge family that made things work. Dr. Dunn was truly a gentleman’s gentleman. My condolences to the family and close friends of his. He will be truly missed. Regards, Peggy Barnes
