Dear Martha and Family we were so sorry to hear of Earl’s passing. remember all the memories you all had together. and know that he is watching over all of you. God Bless you all Gloria, Martin, Gene, Rachel
Martha, Laura, Janeto, Earl, Bryan and Andrew and all the family. Earl was a very remarkable man, the most well travelled man and somebody who told the most fascinating stories. He was a wonderful and supportive father in law, a loving and caring grandfather to Dylan and Charly. We will all miss him terribly but have very fond memories of lovely happy times spent with him. Power breakfasts will never be the same! With my love to everybody, Robert
Dear Martha and family, it is with great sorrow that the Gesami’s have learnt of the loss of a very extraordinary and incredible man. He will be fondly missed by all of us here in Kenya. Please take comfort in the Lord in this difficult time and celebrate Earl’s life because he lived a pretty awesome life surrounded by a beautiful and supportive family. We loved him, but God loved Earl more. Rest in Peace…. Heaven just got a lot more happier with you there now.
Our Deepest Sympathy
To all the Kesslers, It is hard to exaggerate just how remarkable a man my Grandpa was and how incredibly proud and honoured I am to have known him. I could have listened to him for years and even then only scraped the surface of all the stories he had to tell, each one as funny and amazing as the last and always with the inclusion of a beautiful girl! He was a true hero and inspiration to me and I will never forget him. All my love, Dylan
I was sorry to read of Earl’s death. He was at my first post, Quito, in 1965 when I entered the Foreign Service. I always remember his kindness to a very junior officer. You are all fortunate – wife, children, grandchildren – to have had such a kind man in your lives for so long.
WHAT A SAD NEWS!!!! I will always talk about Earl as a person in present!!! We had a trip together and since then kept in Internet touch. He confirms himself as a caring, attentive person with open view and good sence of humour. He inspires with his sincere desire to discover the world and its people. He infects with his human qualities. And though we are on the Internet from time to time I always know = he IS the man who keeps the word and shares the attention any time you address…Good Luck, Earl!! Take care of the people who are dear to you. Leave your energy with them. You are with us!
I have great memories of Earl when he visited Portland. While I was in Vietnam in 1970 he sent me a great and funny card. In 1983 on a visit to his parents Mae and Earl we had a chance to visit and the stories he told entranced my children and my wife and myself. My son visited Washington D.C and while there Earl invited him to dinner and William still talks about the stories of Earls travels..My sincere condolences to Martha and Earls children. He will be missed. Vaughn, Joanne, Kristen, William, Annice…
Our Uncle Earl was such an interesting and well traveled man. His parents, Earl & Mae Kessler often had me visit them when I was growing up here in Walnut Creek. My mother, Phyllis Kessler King went out with him while at UCLA and told us that he was a fabulous dancer and always a great story teller. We always enjoyed his visits here before he went to Oregon to visit his folks. Earl Kessler II, A LIFE WELL LIVED, God Bless his dear and loving family. Robert King
My Grandfather was one of my favorite people in the world. Whenever I was around him it would be impossible not to smile, mainly because he would be telling me rude jokes or talking about old stories from his many many adventures across the world. I will miss him and I will think of him often but as well as that I will remember how lucky I have been to have a person like him in my life, every step of the way. I know he was proud of me and I know he loved me. I loved him very very much and I hope he always knew. I love you, Grandpa. x
Dear Martha: Please accept my condolences for you, Janet and the rest of your family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Susan Kilpatrick

Martha and family, I will miss Earl, we have had numerous phone calls over the years about our family, his humor and intelligence was always appreciated by me. When I was little, his visits to Portland were a treat in which he related stories of his and Martha’s travels. He was the best, the very best! Dean Kessler
