Edward George Ingalls

Edward G. Ingalls (nickname Ted), 80, of Oakton VA, passed away on March 21, 2026.

Ted was born in 1945 to Arthur and Elmina Ingalls in Cooperstown, NY. After graduating from Unadilla High School in Unadilla, NY, Ted went on to study engineering and earn his BS degree at Syracuse University in Syracuse NY. He earned his master’s degree at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA.
After graduation, Ted worked first as an aeronautical engineer for the US Department of the Navy, followed by many years as an aeronautical engineer working for NASA. The majority of his distinguished 45 year career as a civilian engineer with the US Government was spent in the aeronautics field.

Ted leaves behind his beloved wife of 57 years, Katrina (Tina) and their son, Nathan, who was a great source of joy and pride for his dad.

Ted will be remembered as a kind and gentle person who had unwavering dedication to his family and friends. His strength, humor, loyalty and love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
