Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. At Flint Hill, we are all shocked and saddened by the loss of our dear friend. Ed was a tremendous member of our school family! We all loved seeing him at games, and I feel like he came to nearly every game we had, and we always enjoyed the opportunities to talk with him. You and your wonderful family are in our thoughts and prayers!!! He truly was an incredible person and will be deeply missed by all of us!!

  2. My sincere condolences to the Gill family. Eddie and Mike, your dad was a terrific guy and we always had fun kibitzing at hs basketball games. I am so sorry for your loss. I am sure he and Tartasky are yukking it up again. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

  3. We were privileged to have had the opportunity to share the recent softball victory with Ed, to see him smiling and happy at Flint Hill, to talk to him about upcoming marriages and visits to grandchildren. We miss him already, but hope you will celebrate the joys he had while he was here.

  4. I have fond memories from St. John’s Prep days of Ed (“Eddie” at that time). My condolences to your family.

  5. Anne and I are so saddened by your loss. For four years at St. John’s Prep, Ed and I were in classes. Then in the early 90’s we reconnected at a SJP alumni event on Capital Hill. Always a gentleman with an infectious laughter, he became synonymous for us with SJP events. A meeting worthy of the event. You both were there for the 50th class reunion a beautiful night that we will cherish all the more with Ed’s passing. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all and we share your loss. God bless. John and Anne Crowley – SJP ’64

  6. I saw Ed this past March at the new Nationals/Astro spring training baseball stadium in West Palm Beach. I was there with my 27 year old daughter. Ed left UMTA, where we worked together, the year she was born. He recognized me and called me by name on the crowded concourse and we had a chance to catch up. I suspect that is characteristic of his remarkable people skills and many will miss him.

  7. Mary Ann, We’re so sorry to hear about this. We loved bumping into Ed in the driveway and catching up. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

  8. Maryann, even though it’s been about 35 years, the phone call from Barbara with the news about Ed was a shock. So many memories came flooding back. We send our thoughts and prayers to you and your family. John, Anne, Nathan and Jacob Firlings
