Elsie Mae Snyder, 88, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at The Gardens at Fair Oaks. Beloved Wife of the late James (Sonny) Snyder, she was a devoted mother to her daughter Jeanne Martin (Bruce) and her son Jim Snyder (Terri). She was a loving sister to the late June Wright (Marshall), Lillian Linville (Larry) and Henry Lederer (Helen). She was a devoted grandmother to her 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Elsie was born November 8, 1935, to Charles and Regina Lederer in Georgetown, District of Columbia. She was raised in Arlington County, Virginia and attended Washington-Liberty High School. She later settled in Vienna, Virgina with her husband in 1964 where she raised her family.

Elsie was a bookkeeper for most of her working career. She had worked for Griffith Consumers as well as in the family business of her father, Northwest Supply Company, and her brother, Lederer Sound Service, Inc. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting and quilting, creating and collaborating with her mother to create beautiful pieces still enjoyed by the family.

She took great joy in the moments spent with her husband and family at their summer retreat in the Lancaster portion of the Northern Neck off the Corrotoman River. Whether it was just relaxing on the screened porch or watching her children and grandchildren enjoy all the activities and beauty the area offers.

A funeral service will be held at the Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, Va., on Monday March 4th at 11AM. Internment will take place following the Service at Columbia Gardens Cemetery 3411 Arlington Blvd., Arlington Va.
