Evelyn Barbara Keck, born on September 15, 1919 in Camden, NJ. She lived to see her 96th birthday and died on September 16, 2015 in Sumerduck, VA. Beloved wife of 54 years to the late Edwin Keck and loving mother to Holly Ruth Keck Novak of McLean, VA and Donna Carol Keck Daigle of Sumerduck, VA. Evelyn was on the original team, working with Charles Colson to develop Prison Fellowship- a Christian ministry to prison inmates. Before coming to Washington, DC in 1956, Evelyn was an executive administrative assistant at Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company in Philadelphia and New York City. She earned a teaching certificate in biblical studies from Philadelphia College of the Bible. She volunteered with a Christian youth ministry program in New York and New Jersey. In addition to being a skilled athlete in high school, Evelyn was an expert seamstress. She produced delicate needlework and enjoyed sewing and craftwork with textiles. A longtime member of McLean Presbyterian Church in McLean, VA, Evelyn loved God and loved people. She always had a caring heart for those neglected or in crisis. Survivors are son-in-law, Bruce A. Daigle; granddaughter, Amberlyn Daigle Neill and her husband Jordan Neill; grandson, Corwin Andre Daigle; granddaughter Emerald Daigle Brown and her husband Marshall Brown and great-grandchildren, Grayson and Laurel Neill. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 10 at Reconciliation Community Church, 14654 Joplin Road, Manassas, VA 20112.
