Faith "Penny" Willis Collings

(Age 50)

Faith "Penny" Willis Collings of Vienna, VA passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Penny was born on February 3, 1965 in Lexington, VA and moved to Vienna when she was a small child. As a corporate manager, most recently at QuadraMed, she was recognized as a gifted supervisor and a caring mentor. Throughout her life, she always placed the needs of others ahead of herself. As a devoted mother, daughter, sister, friend, boss, and loyal employee, Penny was beloved by all blessed to know her. Without question, her pride and joy was her daughter, Samantha. She would move mountains to support Sam's artistic passions. She and her husband Rich were very involved in Sam's music career and all three quickly became family to the kids and parents who participated at the Vienna School of Rock. Following Rich's unexpected death, the overwhelming love and support from his group was extraordinarily important to both Sam and Penny. Now with the passing of Penny, the support group has joined her loving family in gathering around Sam with open arms.

Penny is predeceased by her husband Rich Collings. Surviving are her dedicated and loving family including her only child, Samantha Collings; her father, Dr. Johnson Willis and wife Betty of Halifax, VA; her mother, Ellen Stewart and husband of Buddy Charlottesville, VA; her grandmother, Virginia Willis of Crewe, VA; her brother Stuart Willis and wife Linda of Woodstock, VA; her sister's, Pam Jenkins and husband Sam of Leesburg, VA and Shannon Nivens and husband Scott of Lynchburg, VA and seven nieces and nephews who dearly loved her, and her best friend Celeste Baurer and husband Bernie of Fairfax, VA.

A celebration of life for Penny will be held Monday, July 20, 2015 at 6:00 pm at the Old Town Hall,

3999 University Blvd., Fairfax, VA. A go fund me site has been set up for Samantha at

  1. It’s with real fondness that I remember Penny from the old Cedar Lane Elementary school days back in Vienna when we were growing up. Such a loss and she’s gone far too soon. Bless you all.
