Fayrene Farmer Magnotti passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, at INOVA Fairfax Hospice from advanced Alzheimer’s Disease. She was 91 years old.

Fayrene was born in Thorn Hill, Tennessee on July 17, 1934, to Ernest James and Bethel Lorene Barnard Farmer. After graduating as a valedictorian at Washburn High School, she was recruited to work as a secretary for the FBI. She moved from rural Washburn, TN, to the big city of Washington, DC in 1953. She met and was married to Louis Ralph Magnotti on April 12, 1958. They lived and raised their family in Vienna, VA. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker for her family. For 30 years of her adult life, Fay selflessly and joyfully cared for her son, severely disabled from a traumatic brain injury. She was famous for her sweet tea, baking, cooking, Southern hospitality and prolific vegetable and flower gardens.

She leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Christina of Vienna, Virginia; cherished grandchildren Richard (Sabrina) of Corinth, Texas, CJ of Austin, Texas, and Heather (Brandon Burke) of Falls Church, Virginia; great grandchildren, Marleigh and Lily Magnotti, and Addelyn “Addie” Burke; sister-in-law Wanda Farmer of Vienna, Virginia and nephews. She is preceded in death and welcomed into heaven by her beloved husband of 59 years, Louis, her two sons, Michael and Christopher and her brothers Ernest and Delano Farmer.

Relatives and friends are invited to Fayrene’s Life Celebration at Wesley United Methodist Church, 711 Spring St, SE, Vienna, VA on Thursday, February 26. Visitation at 11 AM, Service at 12 PM and reception from 1-3 PM. Interment at the National Memorial Cemetery at Quantico, Triangle, Virginia, on February 27 at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Foundation Fighting Blindness https://www.fightingblindness.org/
