On November 5, 2009, Fonda W. Simmons, age 83, of McLean, Virginia & Lewis County, West Virginia passed away unexpectedly at Fairfax Hospital. Loving wife of 58 years of Guy Simmons, Jr. & devoted mother of Dr. Kathryn Simmons. She is also survived by her sister Mable Talbott (Edward) & brother Charles Wellings, Jr. (Barbara).

Fonda was a very caring, professional person that I admired very much. God bless Her husband, daughter and family.
My deepest sympathy to the Simmons family on your loss. My strong memories of Fonda as a superior counselor and fellow teacher at McLean High School are warm and caring.
Mrs. Simmons was an extraordinary teacher. I was in her 1957-58 American Literature class at McClean H.S. and have always remembered her with such respect. I am sad to contemplate a world without her in it. My deepest sympathy goes out to her family. She touched so many lives in such a positive way.
Mrs. Simmons, was one of my favorite teachers. I remember her well. My prayers are with her family.
