Foye Mathews Garcia

On Saturday, December 16, 2006, Foye Mathews Garcia, age 76, died peacefully in her daughter's home in Oakton, VA, surrounded by her loving family. She had bravely and courageously battled cancer for the past 19 months. She was the daughter of Jesse Lee and Carrie Lee Mathews (both deceased); sister of Louise M. Bono, Jack Mathews (deceased), Max Mathews and Mary M. Moody. Mother of Susan G. Prentice and Richard M. Garcia. Grandmother of Heather D. Sheaffer, Jesse Lee Prentice, Daniel P. Prentice, Jacob M. Garcia, Kaitlin S. Garcia and great-grandmother of Hannah Lee Sheaffer. She also had many precious nieces and nephews, cousins and loving in-laws. Family and friends may call Friday, December 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 West Maple Ave., Vienna, VA 22180. Services will be held Saturday, December 23, 2006 at Oakton United Methodist Church, 2951 Chain Bridge Road, Oakton, VA 22124. Additional services and burial will be held the following week in Kinston, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oakton United Methodist Church Building Fund, in memory of Foye Mathews Garcia.
