Frances "Cookie" Palladini-Smith
1944-2014 Frances "Cookie" Palladini, of Oakton, VA died November 23, 2014 at her home. Cookie was born in Coraopolis, PA and was a graduate of Coraopolis High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She was a member of St. John Neumann Parish in Reston, Va. Cookie was a life-long learner and educator, and worked for Edison Electric Institute, Washington, D. C., as an Executive Leadership Trainer for many years. Later in life, she found pleasure in working as a substitute teacher in the Oakton elementary schools. Cookie was an avid sports fan who loved the Steelers, the Redskins and the Yankees. In addition to her love of sports, she had a zest for life and a fun-loving, youthful affinity for Mickey and Minnie Mouse, frequently visiting Disneyland and Disneyworld. She also enjoyed playing bridge, snow skiing, reading, watching movies and going on frequent vacations and cruises with her husband, Tom. She was the daughter of Angelo and Mary Jane Palladini (deceased). Cookie is survived by her loving husband, Thomas F. Smith, Oakton, VA, three step-children, step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, an aunt, many friends, four sisters and a brother.

What a shock to learn of Cookie’s death today. She was always a vibrant person and impressed me with her optimistic outlook regardless of the circumstances. May you rest in peace, Cookie.
