Frances May Audet

frances audet
Frances May Audet, 96, of McLean, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born in 1926, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. She graduated from Woonsocket High School and attended Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire, where she graduated in 1947. Following graduation, she went to work at Assumption College where she met her future husband. In 1953, Frances married Alphonse J. Audet, Jr. (Al), and they moved to Arlington, Virginia where they began their family, welcoming their first children and Frances’ father, Joe, who lived with them for the remainder of his life. In 1963 they moved to McLean, Virginia where they remained and raised their five children. Frances loved all her children and reveled in the birth of each grandchild and great grandchild. She loved her family and she loved God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Mary, the Saints, the Angels, and the Catholic Church. She enjoyed being able to live with her daughter Andree, her son-in-law Jay and her grandson Justin after Al passed away in 1995.

One of the things Frances was known for was the multitude of delicious, beautiful desserts she loved to make and serve at parties. She loved her friends and loved to sing and play her baby grand piano. She loved flowers and feeling the sun on her face. She loved watching birds, butterflies, hummingbirds, deer, and whatever wildlife she could see. She loved all the dogs that were part of her life. Frances loved bright, sparkly things, and her smile shined a light in the lives of those around her. Her laughter filled the rooms.

Frances was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Al, her daughter Elizabeth Green, and her son Richard Audet. Frances is survived by her daughters Andree DuVarney and Adrienne Audet, her sons Michael Audet and Mark Audet and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday October 20, 2022, at St. Luke Catholic Church in McLean, Virginia. Additional details about arrangements upon request.
