Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Fred was my beloved big brother, the last person living who remembered my birth. I have shared some of my many memories of him with members of our family. I will miss him.

  2. We visited Fred in DC during the 70’s when I was working on the East Coast. One of the stories that he told us during one of our visits was that he took such a heavy load of class work in the final year before graduation, that he had enough credits in several subjects that he could have gotten degrees in 3 or 4 subjects. History and Education were among them. As part of the Education load was a practicum, teaching in the local schools. The state had mandated that sex education should be taught. A curriculum had been developed, but none of the local teachers wanted to touch such a hot potato. Fred ended up teaching the first sex education course in the state of Oregon.

  3. So many good memories. I have been a friend to Fred’s daughter Cindy since age 16 and spent many hours at their home visiting Cindy, her parents and brother Rick. Fred always had a good story and was always kind to me welcoming me into his home as a young girl and as much older adult. I will miss him very much.

  4. As a former Mt.Hermon student (1935-36)who called Calcutta home, I extend condolences to Fred’s Family. Fern Hill was my home and the Swans were my “parents” for a couple years.

  5. I was at Mt Hermon School with the Osgoods. Janet was my age. Blessings to you as you celebrate a life well lived. Laverne Vogt Nafziger

  6. My memories of my uncle Fred go back to early childhood. He was kind, funny, caring and happy. My mother loved him very much and talked about him often. I was very please to see Uncle Fred in October. Still the same happy and kind man. So intelligent and quick witted, like his father. So sorry to see him go.
