Born in: Newcastle, Pennsylvania
Resided in: McLean, Virginia

George Nicholas Georgeadis, passed away peacefully on May 8th 2025, at the age of 87, surrounded by his loving family. George was born on April 20th, 1938, in New Castle, Pennsylvania and is survived by his loving wife Rosalie Georgeadis, sons Nicholas and Michael (Amy), grandchildren Lena and Mia, and brother Alexander Georgeadis and sister Helen Sarris.

George attended Carnegie Mellon University, in Pittsburgh, PA, and graduated with honors as an Electrical Engineer. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1961, and was assigned a position with the Army Strategic Air Defense Engineering Agency, at Fort Meade. In 1963 he transferred to the National Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA) after being honorably discharged from the Army, but after a short time soon moved to the Department of the Navy, settling there for 15 years of service in Arlington, VA. However, he was not done yet, in 1981 he was recruited to join Headquarters Marine Corps, he quickly was promoted to lead the Systems Engineering Branch of Marine Corps Research Development & Acquisition Command, and went on to becoming the Director of Program Support and served 19 years before retiring. He was presented with the Meritorious Civilian Service Award, in 2000 by the Marine Corp General.

Those with the pleasure of knowing George, will not forget his enduring love for his family and friends, his quick wit, his breadth of knowledge, and his steadfast faith and devotion to the Greek Orthodox Church, where he and his wife, Rosalie, were longtime members of the church choir. George was an active member and past President of the Order of AHEPA and served many years with his brothers, promoting Hellenic ideals that focused on education, philanthropy, civic responsibility, family, and individual excellence through community service, and George also served as a proud member and also past President of the Parish Council at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church.

Ten years ago, when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, life took an unexpected turn. His activities diminished but the twinkle in his eye and the love for his family remained.

George was a dedicated family man, a supportive friend to so many, and a respected leader at work and in his community. His legacy of service, humility and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew him. George’s steady presence and gentle spirit will be deeply missed.
