George Ruben
February 28, 1932 ~ January 15, 2026
George Ruben, 93, of McLean, Virginia passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026 under family Hospice Care at his home in McLean.
He was born at home in Dixonville, Pennsylvania on February 28th 1932, the son of John and Mary Ruben. George’s family moved to Clymer, Pennsylvania where he graduated in 1950 from Clymer High School.
Drafted into the US Army in 1953, George completed training as a military police officer and was destined to serve in Korea when the Armistice was announced. He subsequently completed his military obligation in Alaska where he served as an MP. When his time in the service was complete, he attended St. Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania.
Upon his graduation from St. Francis with a BA in Economics, George accepted a position with the Federal Government in Washington, DC. George’s career with the Federal Government spanned more than 32 years with 30 of those years at the US Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
During his career with BLS, George authored more than 50 BLS reports, bulletins, and articles for the Monthly Labor Review and was honored with many awards as an outstanding Federal employee.
A Celebration of his Life was held by friends and family with interment at a future date. Arrangements are being handled by Money and King funeral home.
Surviving are his brother Ronald Ruben and his wife Patti, of Rockville, Maryland; his son George M. Ruben of McLean, Virginia; and his daughter Susan M. Moncure and her husband Charles R. Moncure of Fairfax, VA. He is also survived by two grandchildren, William P. Moncure, and Katie M. Moncure of Fairfax, VA.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita (Smith) Ruben in 2020; and two brothers, Andrew Ruben in 2020; and John Ruben Jr. In 1957.
