GERTRUDE JOAN GIOVACCHINI
Departed this world Monday, September 17, 2007, we know the Lord has enfolded her in His arms. Mrs. Giovacchini is survived by her loving daughters and their husbands, Mary Balazs and Laszlo Balazs, Diane Schrinel and Karen Whitesell and Lynn Whitesell. She also leaves behind her sister, Kathleen White; brother, Dr. Joseph Stetch and his wife, Mary Kay; her sister-in-law, Joan Leister and husband, Richard. Mrs. Giovacchini always cherished her grandchildren, Justin and Ariane Schrinel, Michael and Anna Balazs, Samantha and Tyler Yates, Kolby and Evan Whitesell and Lauren Houchens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert P. Giovacchini. Our mother will be remembered forever as a woman of compassion and empathy. Her kindness and love was extended to everyone she knew. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. at MONEY & KING FUNERAL HOME, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 9970 Vale Rd., Vienna, VA on Wednesday, September 19 at 1:30 p.m. Interment Fairfax Memorial Park. The family requests in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to the 'Strong Joanie Fund' for the Rehabilitation of her niece, Joanie Pieper at Resource Bank, 4429 Bonney Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
