Fairfax, VA Glenn Russell Cohoon, 89 died Friday, December 30, 2016 at the Greenfield Senior Living Center in Hagerstown, Maryland, following a brief illness.

He leaves behind three sons, Chris Cohoon (Santa Monica, CA), Glenn Cohoon (Fort Worth, TX) and Pete Cohoon (Fairfax, VA), and two daughters Laura Heggie (Omak, WA) and Lisa Stosch (Reston, VA). He also leaves four grandchildren: Katherine and Kyra Stosch, James Cohoon and Matthew Cohoon. He was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Sharon Cohoon.

He was born October 2, 1927, the son of Harry and Pearl Cohoon and was raised on a rural farm in Belvidere, Illinois. He was determined to leave the rural life behind and put himself through college on the GI bill, receiving a degree in Civil Engineering from Antioch College. He served in the military in the Philippines and was proud of his service to his country.

He spent the bulk of his career working for Corning Inc. in upstate New York. In his role of Facilities Planning Manager he oversaw the construction of plants in Argentina, England and Australia and traveled the world while managing to provide for six children. He lived for over 30 years in the Corning, New York area and retired to Hendersonville, North Carolina.

He will be remembered for his jokes, his laugh, his love of reading and his enjoyment of life.
