I am so sorry for your loss my prayers are with your family
Praying for peace for you and your family in this difficult time.
John and I send our deepest sympathy to your family. I was blessed to have grown up with Gil and attended Good Shepherd Lutheran with him. You are in our thoughts and prayers. May God bless you with His love and peace.
Gil was a wonderful person and will greatly be missed. Sending my sincere condolences to the family.
Unc was one of the most fascinating people I’ve ever met, largely because he had such a broad set of interests and abilities. He was CTO at Noblis, but he also had incredible business savvy. He excelled at math and science, but was also an excellent writer and avid movie critic. He could be critical, but he was also thoughtful, gentle, and sensitive. He had intense intellectual discussions with adults, but also made toddlers laugh historically. He could be intensely serious, but also enjoyed being goofy. He loved studying birds, but also carefully observed dozens of other animals. He was shrewd with money, but also extremely generous. He hated having his picture taken, but was an awesome photographer. What I appreciate most about Unc is that he treated Jessi like one of his own kids, he accepted me into his family without hesitation, and he persistently loved and spoiled Megan and Ashley. Family will never be the same without him.
I worked with Gil from the time he joined MITRE up until I left Noblis in 2009. Gil was kind and thoughtful. Professionally he was an innovator and a deep thinker. Gil always thought outside the box. He was an inspiration to everyone who worked with him. Gils professional accomplishments were many and his shoes will be impossible to fill. But his greatest accomplishment was his family. Gil loved his family and told many stories of his children who he was so proud of. Gil was one of the good guys. I am so sorry for your loss. Peace be with you.
Peter and I are very sorry for the death of Gil. He was a special friend and co-worker, and we remember all of the good times.
Very much appreciated Gil’s support and service on the Christ the King Lutheran Church Council. His experience and vision was helpful in the church’s long range planning
I have many great memories from working with Gil at MITRE and Mitretech from the 70’s – 90’s. Gil always performed at the highest professional level. MITRE recognized this and supported all of his PHD work at CMU. He consistently distinguished himself, those around him, and the corporation. Gil was the major contributor to the IRS computer program, the GSA Telecommunication work, and the FAA NAS Automation Program. Gil has left a hole in the Govt Technology world that will take a long time to fill. His family will be able to remember his contributions for years.
Gil was a wonderful colleague and I will cherish very fond memories of him. May the love of family and friends comfort you during these difficult days. My most heartfelt condolences, Bethany Stover
Gil was a colleague of mine until I left Noblis in 2012. He was a wonderful mentor and friend. He was generous with his time and his ideas; I learned a great deal from him. I fondly remember the many baseball discussions we had, especially after the Nationals came to town. He did like to (gently) bust my chops about how bad they were in the early days! I will miss him but I know I am a better person for having known him. Rest in peace, Gil. My prayers are with you and your family.
Gil was a very thoughtful, generous person who was kind to all walks of life. He will be greatly missed by all of us at Noblis. My sincere condolences to the family, all of which he was very proud.
Gil was an incredible colleague and wonderful collaborator. Just a few weeks ago we were sharing ideas, thinking up new strategies, and enjoying the opportunity to exchange knowledge. I am still in shock that he has left us but find solace in having shared an all too brief time with him. My heartfelt sympathy and condolence to his family, friends, and colleagues. The world is better from his being here.

My mother (Elneda Kirk) and I knew the Miller Family through Good Shepherd Church in Dundalk. Gil and I were in the same Sunday School and Cathechism classes. We both graduated from Dundalk in 1970. We send our deepest sympathy and God’s grace and blessing to your family. Gil was a wonderful and kind person. God bless you. Sharon Kirk
A wonderful person to have known.
I went to High School with Gil. He was voted most likely to succeed. I am saddened by his too early departure from us. My prayers are with Gil and his family and friends.
