Imelda Purugganan Iames

Imelda Iames, 65, of Vienna, Virginia, passed away on April 4, 2026.

Imelda was born on October 10, 1960, to the late Eduardo Quijano Purugganan and Priscilla Pascua Mendoza in San Fernando, La Union, Philippines. On August 13th, 1982, Imelda graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce with a major in Accounting from Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union.

Shortly after graduation, Imelda immigrated to the United States with her family.

Imelda met Michael Iames on October 12th, 1985, and they wed on December 20th, 1986. Imelda had two children, Edward and Rosey. In addition to taking care of her children, she also worked for the Internal Revenue Service.

Imelda enjoyed spending time with her children, cross-stitching, and watching TV. Her favorite shows were Jeopardy and General Hospital. Imelda’s favorite holiday was Christmas and she enjoyed listening to Clay Aiken.

Imelda is going to join her mother, father, and youngest sister, Charito “Maricha” Purugganan. Imelda leaves behind her sister Floricita “Florence” Purugganan and brother Samuel Purugganan; son Edward and wife Lauren Lai; and daughter Rosey and husband Charlie Houghton, and grand-cat-son Tiger.
