Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I’m so very sorry to hear about your loss. I wish there was something I could say or do to ease your pain.

  2. Ivan was a kind, funny, and astute young man who brought warmth and light to all around him. He is gone from this earth far too soon, but his memory will burn brightly for all who knew him.🕊️🥀🙏

  3. Gary — I remember Ivan as a little boy, and as a teenager when you brought him to a special program at the Commission. My daughter, Liana, also participated in that program, and I believe that the four of us had lunch together. Over the years, I have enjoyed your pictures of your travel and adventures with Ivan. How wonderful to spend so much time together. He was such a handsome young man with a face that radiated happiness. His death is such a devastating loss, and I send deep condolences to the entire family.
    Sincerely,
    Deborah

  4. I didn’t know Ivan for very long, but I truly appreciated the time we had working together. He had a kind and gentle spirit, was always willing to help, and brought a wonderful sense of humor to those around him. His passing is a great and unexpected shock. Though he is gone far too soon, he will be remembered lovingly, fondly, and with warmth. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all those he leaves behind. Wishing them comfort and healing during this difficult time.

  5. Sending my heartfelt condolences for your loss. Ivan was truly a kind and warm individual, and it was always a pleasure to work alongside him. I genuinely enjoyed our conversations, and it was clear from the stories he shared just how deeply he loved his family. Thinking of Ivan’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time, and wishing you all peace, comfort, and healing as you navigate the days ahead.

  6. I wanted to take a moment to share just how deeply saddened I am by the loss of Ivan. In all the time I knew him, Ivan stood out as one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever met. His caring and giving nature touched everyone around him, and his positive outlook was truly infectious. Every conversation with Ivan was a joy—he had a wonderful smile that could instantly brighten your day.

It’s hard to find the right words to express the sorrow I feel at losing such a wonderful friend. Ivan will be deeply missed.

My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to Ivan’s family and friends during this difficult time. Please know that you are in my thoughts.

    Sincerely,

  7. Gary – I’m so grateful and honored to have met your beautiful son Ivan on a number of occasions. What a gift to have him at our events. I’m so sorry for your loss and pray that you will continue to be surrounded by love and kindness and that his memory will live on in all of us.

  8. Ivan was my best friend growing up. I still remember all those times we hung out, played, and shared life experiences together through Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, School, we were inseparable. I was devastated to hear this news and feel bad that we drifted apart due to college and life but he would always try to tell me jokes, remember my birthday, and always remember me on the holidays. I should have been better to you Ivan and I’m sorry for everything you went through. You are now a void that can never be filled and you touched so many of our hearts over these 35 years. Now, you are with God and I’m happy you are resting peacefully and I will miss you and have missed you. Lighting a candle for you my friend know that I am sorry again for growing distant and sorry for your family’s loss of a son who left this world way too early. Rest in heavenly peace Ivan.

  9. It’s difficult to put into words the shock and heartbreak I feel knowing that a light like Ivan is no longer in this world. Ivan and I worked closely together, and he was always such a positive, soft-spoken soul. He had a quiet sense of humor, a gentle spirit, and carried himself with so much kindness and grace.

We shared work trips together, and I will always remember what a true gentleman he was. He never let any of the women carry our luggage, always opened doors, and carried himself with a level of chivalry that is rare to see. He was a joy to be around, extremely intelligent, and he had a way of sharing interesting stories and little fun facts that made conversations with him memorable. I will truly miss our talks, and I feel incredibly grateful to have met him.

While I find some peace in knowing he is no longer suffering or in pain, the space his passing leaves behind will always be felt. Ivan’s kindness and positivity touched so many people, and the world feels a little dimmer without him here.

I am sending my deepest prayers and condolences to his family, his friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. I am so deeply sorry for this loss. Ivan was a wonderful peer and friend, and he will be missed dearly.

  10. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ivan. I have only worked with him for a short time and he was a super nice person to work with. He will greatly be missed by all his colleges and Navy Federal Credit Union. I am sending my deepest prayers and condolences to his family, friends, and everyone that knew him

  11. Ivan was an amazing and kind person. Working with him at NFCU always put a smile on my face. I called him the Warhawk, my children also went to MHS. Ivan will be missed and remembered. I am so sorry for the lose of such generous and loving young man.

  12. I am incredibly saddened to hear about the loss of Ivan. I had the pleasure of working with Ivan at Navy Federal and from the first moment I met him, I could tell what a bright light he was. Ivan was genuinely one of the kindest, most thoughtful, and funny people I’ve had the opportunity to work with. When I went on my first cruise, Ivan was was so excited for me and he couldn’t wait to share his tips and tricks for cruising.

Ivan was 1 of 1 and he was always able to effortlessly light up a room. He will be sorely missed but to the parents and family of Ivan, I hope you know you raised an amazing man who was kind, thoughtful, and caring. While his time on earth was cut short, it didn’t stop him from making and lasting impact on me and everyone who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him.

  13. Receiving the devasting news of Ivan’s passing made the week emotionally heavy. Ivan was a special and sweet soul. I would tell him he’s extra special because he’s a Christmas baby and he always humble about it.

I had the pleasure and honor of working with him on several projects and initiatives at Navy Federal. All I can say is he was genuinely a great person who was a joy to work with. He exuded kindness, warmth, caring, and respectfulness towards any and everyone. Let’s not mention how funny he was! He would say something funny during our event preparations that would leave us in tears. Or during meetings like two school children holding laughter during class. He literally was a breath of fresh air on high volume days. I could have had a stressful or busy day, and Ivan would come by smiling and that immediately made me genuinely smile. You had no choice but to smile when he came by or you saw him because he was a walking ray of sunshine filled with positivity, good vibes and activated happiness. Without hesitation, he would stop what he was doing to help me or anyone. As a matter of fact, he was always eager to help more after he finished helping. I would always tell him, “Relax, you’re fine. The assistance you provided was more than enough and I appreciate you.”

His passing has truly left sadness and a void. He is and will always be missed. To The Seigel family, Ivan’s loved ones, closest friends and all whose lives he touched, I’m sending my prayers and deepest condolences to you all. May the beautiful memories he created with you live your hearts forever. I pray you feel God’s comforting arms around you in times of sadness. And in those times of sadness may good memories you made with Ivan overtake your sadness and cause you to smile instead of crying.

Ivan, thank you for your kindness and everything. You left a positive footprint and are most certainly missed. Friend, you have helped more than enough and I will continue to keep you and your family in prayer. May you now relax and rest so peacefully. “Relax, you’re fine.”

  14. It is incredibly difficult and heartbreaking to know that such a beautiful soul and a bright light to this world has passed on. Ivan brought so much joy to all those around him. His kindness touched everyone he crossed paths with. His presence always lit up the room.

Ivan, thank you for crossing paths with me, I can truly say I know an angel.

  15. I’m shocked and heartbroken to hear of Ivan’s passing. He was always so warm, helpful, and enthusiastic whenever we crossed paths at work. Even though I didn’t have the chance to work directly with him, every time I stopped by his desk to say hello, he would light up, make small talk, and bring such positive energy. Those brief interactions left a lasting impression. He made such a difference to those around him at work in a short time, I can only imagine the impact he had on his family and friends. He truly was a bright light and will be deeply missed.

  16. Gary and family,

I am profoundly heartbroken to hear of your sudden loss. May Ivan rest in peace.

    Peter

  17. I can’t even think of what to write here as I am still in shock after hearing of his sudden passing. I knew Ivan for a short time as we were colleagues at Navy Federal. I rememeber passing by his desk to always be greeted with a warm smile and welcoming demeanor. We became friends during the last few months of last year and he was so kind to be during a tough time in my life. He was a good friend and a congenial colleague who brought kindness, warmth and competence into any interaction I have had with him. I cannot fathom that he is gone but I am so glad to have crossed paths with him.

I hope God gives his family all the strength you need to get through this unbareable time.

Ivan, wherever you are, thank you for being a good friend to me. I hope you are resting in peace.

  18. Ivan was a wonderfully kind and friendly co-worker and I was shocked and deeply saddened by his passing. My prayers and thoughts go out to Ivan and his family. I met Ivan at NFCU and he ALWAYS greeted me and others warmly and with a smile. He was thoughtful of others and he will be sorely missed.

  19. Although the time Ivan spent on this earth was brief, his kindness and spirit will live on to all that he touched. Ivan, may your soul rest in peace and may you know how much joy you brought to so many people!
