Jackie Leonard Darne
October 14, 1948 ~ September 8, 2020
Jackie Leonard Darne, of Haymarket, Virginia, passed away suddenly on Tuesday evening September 8th, 2020. Born October 14th, 1948, Jackie was a fifth-generation builder who grew up in Vienna and went on to build hundreds of homes in Northern Virginia.
Jackie is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Debbie Darne; son Jason Darne and Shannon Redwine, son Nicholas Darne, his wife Giffy, and grandson Jaxon Darne, his brothers Bobby (with his wife, Barbara) and William Darne, and his many nieces and nephews. He was loved by many friends and family who will miss his warm smile and joking ways that could make any situation lighter.
After honorably serving in the Navy, Jackie joined his father’s business, George A. Darne & Sons where he thrived as a home builder who took great pride in his craft. He was a very active member of his community by coaching his children’s sport teams, organizing charities for Cystic Fibrosis, lending a helping hand to those in need, and supporting his family’s endeavors. As a former race car driver and fan, his love for racing was contagious to those around him.
We ask in lieu of flowers that you donate in Jackie’s name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or Great Strides, which is for CF Research.
