Jaime T. Fernandez
November 13, 1956 ~ September 14, 2026
Born in:
Mexico City, Mexico
Resided in:
Oakton, Virginia
Jaime was born on November 13, 1956, in Mexico City. He met Lolita, who would become his wife, best friend, and lifelong companion, and the two were married in 1982. Over 44 years of marriage, they built a beautiful life together and raised their two sons, Fabricio and Marcelo.
Above all, Jaime was devoted to his family. He was the rock of his family—a steady and dependable presence who brought strength, stability, and reassurance to those around him. His family knew they could always count on him, not only in the difficult moments, but throughout the everyday moments of life.
Jaime had a profound impact well beyond his immediate family. He was a mentor to many and someone who consistently put people first. He led by example and with love, showing through his actions the importance of kindness, generosity, faith, and caring for others. He was generous with his time, his guidance, and his compassion, and he genuinely wanted to see the people around him succeed and be cared for.
In more recent years, Jaime found particular meaning in volunteering with the homeless ministry, where his desire to serve others and help those in need became an important part of his life. It was a natural reflection of the way he had always lived—with compassion for others and a willingness to give of himself.
Jaime took tremendous pride in his family and cherished the relationships he built throughout his life. His family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace and in the presence of Jesus.
Jaime is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Lolita; his sons, Fabricio and Marcelo; his daughter-in-law, Kelsey; and his grandsons, Levi and Theo, who brought him tremendous joy. He is also survived by his nephew, Ivan Diaz, who lived with the family and whom Jaime loved like a son, and Ivan’s wife, Karen; his loving nieces and nephews; his father, Guillermo; and his siblings, Guillermo and Gabriela.
In honor of Jaime’s commitment to serving those in need, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Homeless Ministry of the Metropolitan Community Church of Northern Virginia. I send a voice so that you have a good journey back to the stars, back home. In the universe, there are many places. I want to believe that somehow, you will coincide in the same place where my wife Sunny is and you can continue that friendship. You both fought hard against cancer. And you both won! Because now that damned cancer can no longer give you more pain. I here, now share this feeling of grief with your wife Lolita.
Good journey, my good friend! Thanks for everything!
Lolita, Fabricio, and Marcelo,
My heart, my understanding, my comprehension, my support, and my condolences to you all.

All and each one of my relations.
Jaime, buen amigo, noble y leal.

We wish that we could be there with you all today to celebrate the life of such a wonderful father and grandfather. His love and kindness was always felt whenever we came to your home. He set a beautiful tone in the house which made it a welcoming home. His smile and cheerful conversation made us all enjoy being there. As you go through these days of missing him so much, we hope you feel the love of your friends and family near and far, and Jesus’ love even nearer. May God bless today and be with you in each moment of joyful remembrance and sorrowful grief.
Love,
The Lindsey Family
