On Sunday, February 8, 2009, at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Juanita "Puggy" Buhl Cooper. Beloved father of Mary Elizabeth Cooper and James Crossley Cooper II and wife, Patricia; devoted grandfather of James Crossley Cooper III and Laura Elizabeth Robertson; brother of Ann Cooper Kyker and also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his name to the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006.
