James Clarence Rigney

James Clarence Rigney, born May 11, 1932, in Pulaski, VA, eldest son of Maggie and Clarence Rigney, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Quesenberry Rigney; daughters Joan Brown and Janet Sylvester; grandchildren TJ Sittner, Michael Brown, James Sittner, Jessica Brown Miller, Neil Sittner, Robert Brown; sisters, Sylvia Combs, Margaret Edwards; sons-in-law Steve Brown, Jan Sylvester; sister-in-law Louise Rigney, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father, daughter Jennifer Rigney; siblings Claire Lee Rigney, Donald Rigney, Betty Jones and Linda Watkins. After graduation in 1951, he was in the Navy for four years. He moved to the Northern Virginia area where he joined his father and brother in the construction business. He later formed his home improvement business. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who delighted teaching his grandchildren the sport of fishing. He was cherished by all who knew him.
