Resided in:
Vienna, VA
James (Jim) M. Fahey of Vienna, Virginia, passed away at home on December 15, 2025, at the age of 93.
Though Jim spent his childhood in Massachusetts and Connecticut, he was a 1951 graduate of Palm Beach High School in Florida. That same year, he entered the U.S. Air Force as a Private, launching a distinguished military career that spanned decades and continents. He served at various posts globally, including tours in Korea, Japan, and Germany. In 1958, Jim completed Officer Candidate School (OCS), beginning an impressive rise through the ranks to Lieutenant Colonel. He concluded his service at the Pentagon as the Director of the USAF Frequency Management Office, retiring in 1977.
Not one to slow down, Jim embarked on a second career in real estate. He worked as an agent and broker, ultimately operating his own firm alongside his wife, Jane, until his second retirement in 1995.
Jim was an avid golfer who found great joy on the green. He served as president of the Oakmont (formerly Oak Marr) Senior League for 15 years and was incredibly proud of his two career holes-in-one.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Jane; his sister, Pat Green of Washington, DC; and his five sons: Kevin (Karla) of Springfield, VA; Sean (Jennifer) of Knotts Island, NC; Patrick (Basilica) of Gainesville, VA; Kerry (Tammy) of Jupiter, FL; and Brendan of Virginia Beach, VA. He also leaves behind a legacy of nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 30 years, Ramona, the mother of his five wonderful sons.
Per Jim’s wishes, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children (www.shrinerschildrens.org). The care provided by their doctors and hospital in Springfield, MA, saved Jim’s life in 1938, a gift for which he was forever grateful.
Visitation will be held at Money & King Funeral Home in Vienna, VA, on December 29 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

love you, grandpa.
Although I did not personally know Mr. Fahey, I went to high school with Brendan and dated Kerry. I am so sorry to hear of their Dad’s passing. I know what it is like to lose a parent as well. My prayers are with the Fahey family at this time, and hope that their sorrow will transform into happy memories about their Dad over time.
