  1. Jim was my friend and on a couple cf contracts my boss – he was a mentor and a role model for me. As a brand new nobody when he was president of ASAE I was impressed that he always knew who I was and that he talked to me. Jim, all those people you have on your daily prayer list are now on mine – with you at the top. Watch over me as you always have. Semper Fi Tina

  3. Jim: You left us too soon; we didn’t have time to tell you how important your contributions were to the industry you had such a major role in building. And too little time to tell you we love you.

  4. This truly brings to an end the earlier years of association management when it was exploding with ideas, new management concepts and exciting people. Jim, your intensity was almost frightening; your views always arrived at immediately and explained forcefully. In short, you are one of the most fascinating men I have ever known personally. The association world’s respect goes with you as you withdraw to a much better foxhole.

  5. Royce and I became friends with Jim and Patti through ASAE and that friendship was nutured and grew through the many years with FIM. It was a friendship greatly valued by both of us. Knowing Jim and Royce, they’re probably together forming an entirely new Heavenly Association of something or the other right now!

  6. To the family of my, Youre a great American, friend. I miss Jim a great deal already as I know you do. The legacy he leaves you is one to be cherished. Thanks be to God that I got to know this dynamo of a man a little bit. His view of life and the world has made great improvements in the way I view my life. They better have golf courses in Heaven for Jim to play as the last ten months without golf was difficult for him. I know you are all mourning deeply and pray that you will soon see the celebrations that you should have because of your participation in Jims wonderful life. Great movies are made of characters with character like Jim Lows.

  7. Dear Patti, Jim and I had a very solid relationship, based as it was on war stories–his from Korea, mine from ‘Nam–shared doggie moments as Tina was enthusiastically greeted by KumWah, and spiriting away the most unwanted street signs at the entrance to Hidden Springs. I will miss my co-conspiritor very much indeed. With deepest sympathy at this great loss, Mike.

  8. If we built monuments to the stars of the association industry, Jim would be the first. We will miss his enthusiasm, motivation, and loyalty. Semper Fi, good friend.

  9. Dear Patti and family~~Jim was a dynamic leader in the association field, with great charisma and people skills. He will be greatly missed. My deepest condolences.

  10. Patti: Our sadness is profound to have lost such a friend from this place. Our sadness is relieved in the assurance that we share in Jesus Christ — that his next place is the one to which we believers all aspire — a better place. Jim was important to many lives and so it was with us. For the days to come, we pray that you and your family will find peace and comfort through Christ’s blessing.

  11. I was proud to be a part of the association community under Jim’s great leadership and I shall miss him and his delightful stories at our ROMEO luncheons.
