Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I knew Jim from the mid-60’s at the old Fairfax High School, home of the Rebels – no relation to the new Fairfax Pride; with the lion out in front of the school. Jim and my former late husband (Frank Hall) and my brother (Bob Valentine) were classmates (67). Our youngest children (Amy Hall Pickard/Shannon Gillespie Edwards)were very close childhood friends from elementary through high school. I will remember Jim’s wonderful laugh and big smile. Jim was just a super nice, friendly, easy going guy. I will always remember Jim with great fondness. My deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the Gillespie family. Cherish the memories and keep Jim in your hearts forever.

  2. Jim worked with me for several years during our time together at the Postal Service’s Merrifield Management Sectional Center (NoVA MSC). He was a friendly and exemplary supervisor who could always be counted on to do the right thing for his fellow employees and postal customers. My prayers go out to his wife and family.

  3. We did not know of Jim’s passing until today, Jan 26. He was a wonderful, kind and gentle soul. He was there for my husband this summer during a very trying and difficult time. We are deeply saddened by his passing. He and my husband knew each other for years as they worked for the USPS. Truly one of the dearest people ever born.
