Jay H. Rotz

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jay Harold Rotz, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend at the age of 82.

Jay passed away Monday, August 26th at his home in Clifton, VA. He was the husband of Melanie and the father of Blair RamosCarr (G), Chrissy Tobias (John) and Jake Rotz (Christy) and 5 grandchildren.

Jay was born on January 2, 1942, in York, Pennsylvania to the late Jake Rotz and Blanche K. (Diffenderfer) Rotz.

Jay graduated from The Penn State University with an Accounting degree and then earned his Juris Doctorate from Georgetown Law School.

He took great pride in his work at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for over 35 years retiring as the Deputy Director of Exempt Organizations. Following his retirement, he worked at The George Washington University as their Tax Manager and then the law firm, Webster Chamberlain & Bean. Following his retirement, he enjoyed volunteering through the Manassas Rotary Club and always offered a helping hand to anyone in need.

Jay was an avid reader of history with a keen interest in the Civil War. He loved gardening, woodworking, coin collecting, working outdoors and Penn State Football.
