Jean-Francois Roland Duff

Jean-Francois Roland Duff, known to all except his mother as “Frank,” passed away on August 9, 2026, at the age of 54.

Frank was born on October 18, 1971, in Würzburg, Germany, and grew up in Stafford, Virginia, where he graduated from North Stafford High School in 1990. In 1993, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served with the storied 82nd Airborne Division. In 1997, he joined the Virginia National Guard. In 2005, Frank was called up to serve in Operation Enduring Freedom, deploying to Iraq. He served in theater with distinction until 2006, when he was honorably discharged, going on to build a long and successful second career in cybersecurity.

Frank was known for his quick wit and love of a good joke — never one to let a room stay too serious for long. He had a deep love of animals, a passion for comic book superheroes, Star Wars, and action/horror movies, and a wanderer’s heart for travel, always eager for the next adventure.

Frank is survived by his wife, Sarah Zaffina; his daughter, Emma Csanyi; his mother, Pirette Duff; and his brother, Thierry Duff. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Duff.

A visitation will be held on August 29, 2026, from 12:00–1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 1:00–2:00 PM, at Money & King Funeral Home, 171 Maple Ave. W, Vienna, VA 22180.

A Celebration of Life, at the Myers family residence, will follow that evening from 5:00–8:00 PM, Please come in casual attire.
