Joan Niessen Kerby entered into rest Thursday, December 28, 2006. Beloved wife of Michael C. Kerby; devoted mother of Michael C. Kerby, Jr., Kathleen Marie Cassidy and Kevin D. Kerby; dear sister of Robert and David Niessen. Friends may call at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA on Tuesday, January 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 11 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 3700 Old Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA. Interment to follow at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Capital Hospice, P.O. Box 1576, Merrifield, VA 22116

  1. Dear Mike – I was so sorry to read in this mornings Post that Joan had died. She was such a nice and lovely lady amd I enjoyed meeting you both so much on our cruise from Baltimore to Canada several years ago,. Bud died in February , 2005 suddenly a day after we returned from a golfing vacation in Hawaii so he was enjoying the things he liked best until the end but it it still hard to lose someone you care for no matter how it happens. We can only be grateful for the memories. Sincerely. Bobbie

  9. Dear Mike, Iwas so terribly shocked to learn of Joan\\\’s death from Kathy Monahan. She looked so terrific and seemed so well at our 50th reunion from Holy Cross which is where I met you. She was a great gal and so solicitous when my husband died last December. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers. Joan is in a better place. May she rest in peace.

  18. I attended Holy Cross and Dunbarton with Joan. She was not only beautiful of face but also in all her dealings with others. I am so glad I saw her at our 50th Reunion and then again at lunch in January. My condolences to all her family. We called her the \\\”Grace Kelly\\\” of our class. She will be very much missed.

  21. Dear Mike: Just heard on return from a Christmas trip to England. Thinking of you and Joan. Wish there was something to be done. No one knows more than I how great was the love you shared. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. I have prayed long since her illness and all of you have been in my thoughts just as you are now as she is put to rest.
