Guestbook

  1. Lois and family, John was the best neighbor anyone could ever want. He was always there to lend a hand or lend an ear. He had a wonderful sense of humor and liked everyone. He was proud of his family and devoted to his church. We loved him. He set an example for our children. We were so blessed to have known him. Love, Don & Judy

  2. We will miss John’s wonderful sense of humor and devoted involvement in his church. It was our privilege to usher at Christ Church under John’s demanding yet caring tutoring, and to know him better through many common interests. We also appreciated his kindness to Marilyn’s mother and father while they were with us, and are confident that they were among those who ushered John into God’s heavenly Kingdom.

  3. I believe that friends are not only those that you see every day, or every week, or every month, but those that touch our lives in such a special way that time and distance do not really matter. We haven’t seen John in about 19 years, but he was nonetheless a very special person to us. From the Vega Family to Lois, to our friend Ines, and to all his family, we send our deepest sympathy. Our thoughts are with you.

  4. Lois, Gayle, and other family members, While I have not seen John in many years, I clearly have very fond memories of the person who hired me at EPA in 1974 and taught me so much. I especially appreciate how John helped make those early years at EPA so special, and for his friendship. You have my sincere condolence.

  5. My condolences to your family during this time of loss. John was loved by many, especially his EPA family. My thoughts and prayers will remain with you during this difficult time.

  6. Lois and Family, I was heartbroken to hear John had passed away. He was my mentor at Christ Church Alexandria when I first became an usher and I’m so blessed to have been tutored by the best. He was a gift to Christ Church and to everyone who knew and loved him. May God bless you all during this time..you are in my thoughts and prayers.

  7. It has been a pleasure to be neighbors for over 15 years and to enjoy John’s wit and good nature. I’ve enjoyed the few routine tasks we have done together (e.g., the awning) and have appreciated his rides to the metro and other generosity. He will be missed and our prayers will be with the family. Gary & Siamphone Alex

  8. I will truly miss John, I have fond memories of him. I had the pleasure of working with him as my supervisor at EPA for over 5 years. I learned a lot from John and remember his wit and good nature. My thoughts and prayers are with the Riley Family.

  9. Gayle and Lynn, my Dad called my to tell me your father had passed. I wanted to send my condolences to you and your families. It seems like such a long time ago that we all lived in Vienna! You take care. Jan

  10. Lois, It all seemed to happen so suddenly, but John was ever the gentleman and stoic to the end. EPA needs you and you need them for now, so forge ahead and keep your spirits high. John would want that from all of us. My memories are all pleasant and will last for sure. Be safe. Jeff

  11. Lois and family, John was my mentor, colleague and friend for many years at EPA and I miss his kind nature, good humor and wise counsel. I am very saddened by John’s passing and wish you well during this difficult time.
