All of you have our deepest sympathy and love. We will always remember Jay for his hearty laugh and his love of fun and good times. We have fond memories of family events throughout the years. Cherish your many happy memories. You will remain in our thoughts and prayers during this time.
Lolly, so sorry for your loss. Linda and I have fond memories of chats with you and Jay at ’57 activities. My sis Evelyn was a classmate of Jay’s. We would like to come to the celebration of his life. Our prayers are with you.
So many wonderful memories of Jay from visits with the Wynne clan. My best may be the time he test drove my Dad’s Datsun 240z with me in the passenger seat. I believe I was hunkered down on the floorboards by the time the trip was over! A wonderful life well lived, just not long enough.
Jay was very proud of his Newport News apprenticeship. He was a pleasure to work with when he came back to his alma mater and delivered the commencement address at graduation. We were honored to have him fill that role and he didn’t disappoint, as many who knew him can well imagine. May God’s grace be with him and his family. Dr. Jim Hughes, manager, Training, The Apprentice School (retired).
Our sincere condolences. Patricia and I will be forever grateful to John for bringing us to Virginia and mentoring my career. I owe any success I have had in the marine industry since 1990 to John’s guiding hand and leadership. I have many memories of John having traveled extensively in the US and abroad with him but my fondest memory is the look of excitement in his eyes as he rushed into the Mobil cafeteria to tell me that Patricia was going into labor and I had to get home immediately. That evening our daughter Emmaline was born. She absolutely adored John and he never lost the opportunity to ask about her whenever we spoke. You will be sorely missed my friend.
For the short time we knew him, we were privileged enough to be neighbors and friends. We will miss his friendly face, his lively stories and his excellent recommendations on everything Northern Virginia. Lolly, we are very sorry for your
