Mike Moore of Haymarket, VA, died suddenly at home on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 due to natural causes. Loving husband of 24 years to Laura Moore; cherished father of Steven and Katelyn Moore of Haymarket, VA; son of James and Phyllis Moore and brother of Ann Moore all of Johnson City, TN. Relatives and friends are invited to Mike's Life Celebration at St. Mark Catholic Church, 9970 Vale Rd., Vienna VA, on Tuesday, March 26 from 10:00 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be held at a later date at St Mark Catholic Church Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Murphy Girls Fund, C/O Suntrust Bank, 5260 Merchants View Sq., Haymarket, VA 20169.

Words cannot express just how shocked and saddened we were to hear this news. Mike was very important to Dave growing up – a role model and a big brother figure. He is a big part of the reason Dave became a scientist. We are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers in this tough tough time.
Hold tight to your memories and even tighter to your faith…it is our hope that they will bring you some comfort in the difficult days ahead and in the future that they will bring you peace and smiles. Our family is holding you close to our hearts.

We are deeply saddened by the untimely death of Mike. To Mike’s Family, I deeply appreciated knowing and working with Mike at Lockheed. He congratulated on those things I did well and encouraged where I needed to improve. May your memories be good ones of him.
Mike blessed us constantly with his amazing food concoctions. We were a well fed group of teachers and friends thanks to him! Mike,you, your cooking, and your friendship among many other things, will be sorely missed. Until we meet again 🙂
I’m very sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. The world is a sadder place for it. I worked with Mike for years on EOSDIS. He was a sweetheart of a guy, always brought a positive, optimistic outlook to whatever trials and tribulations we were enduring at the time. I will miss him.
Our time working together on NGI was lively and he made it such that we couldn’t wait to see what each day would bring. He was the spark that made it all work. Mike loved to laugh and that is how I will always remember him. He was kind and caring and will be missed.

I really enjoyed working with Mike as my program manager – whenever I dealt with him he aways had a nice thing to say to me. He was key to our program for many years. I am so sorry for his loss. My deepest sympathies.
