John loved to ride horses and his Harley.
John was most proud of serving his country and protecting others.
Sorry to hear of John’s passing. He and I served on the FCPD together at the Old Annandale Station on B Squad in the early 70’s. He was a good man.

He will be missed!
He will be missed!
John and I supervised a squad of highly motivated, independent patrol officers in McLean in 1983 allowing us to get to know each other over coffee, cigarettes, 4th of July fireworks viewed from yet-to-be-opened I66 overpasses and, don’t tell anyone, an occasional ride on Tony the Poney at Pike 7 Plaza. John was a great guy and joy to work with.😢🙏
John was a larger than life personality to me. Always smiling and joking. I was a rookie at McLean in the late 80’s and he was in CIS at the time. He, as a 2nd Lt, always took the time to speak to me and tell me a joke or two. A kind soul. Fond memories…
RIP
John and I worked together several times over the course of our careers. He was always a steady leader and the kind of cop you wanted next to you when things got difficult. He was a good man with a great sense of humor, and I so enjoyed working with him.
John was my CIS Lieutenant at McLean and he great to be around. He never let me or his troops down. He and I would go to lunch together and wherever we went he was welcomed like a long lost son. I would ask him is there anyone who doesn’t know you? He loved people and it was evident people loved him. Beyond his steely exterior he was a kind and generous person who was always there to help anyone who needed it. No matter what you needed he would find a way to deliver. He was old school and very loyal to all those around him. He never took himself too seriously and was a great leader.
He served FCPD and the community very well and will be missed by all those who knew him. He made a lasting impact.
God Bless you John. RIP
Worked close with John, he was a good guy.
