June Taliaferro Harriman

June Taliaferro Harriman, 96, of Vienna, Va., died on October 19, 2010. Born in Harrisonburg, Va., she was the daughter of the late Frank O. and Edna S. Taliaferro. She was also predeceased by her husband, Clifford J. Harriman, a long-time employee of the National Park Service; a son, Thomas T. Harriman and a twin brother, Jack Taliaferro. She leaves behind a son, Stephen J. Harriman (and friend Renee Wiman); a granddaughter, Susan Oliveira (and husband Paul); two grandsons, Thomas T. Harriman Jr. (and wife Elizabeth) and Austin W. Harriman (and wife Lisa); four great-grandchildren, Samantha Oliveira Bryant (and husband David), Paulo Oliveira and Lauren and Bailey Harriman; one great-great grandson, Nicholas Bryant; and two daughters-in-law, Carol B. Harriman and Barbara M. Harriman.
She attended Harrisonburg State Teachers College (now James Madison University) and was graduated with a degree in social sciences from the Richmond Division of the College of William & Mary (now Virginia Commonwealth University). June was an accomplished amateur artist until her eyesight failed and was a member of the Vienna Arts Society and the Miniature Society. She was an active member of the Epiphany Methodist Church in Vienna and had a long-time interest in the Rose Park United Methodist Church in Wolftown, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial donation to either church.
