Karen was a very special person. I am so sorry for your loss and cannot tell you how sadden I was to hear the news. One of my earliest memories of Karen was back in the First Union days, shortly after meeting. Karen and I discovered we both loved the South Jersey shore and in particular, Stone Harbor and Avalon. We traded stories of our adventures there and I was quite envious that Karen and her husband were able to spend lots of time there with her husband’s family 🙂 Shortly after my 1st child was born, Karen gave her a special present – a pink “Stone Harbor” t-shirt. It was so kind and thoughtful and so typical of the Karen I came to know much better over the years. I will think of Karen every time we are in Stone Harbor – and toast to the life she lived and all the lives she touched. God Bless. Esther Dakin
Earth’s loss is heaven’s gain. Rest in peace Karen.
I am so sorry to hear of Karen’s passing! We attended high school together and I have many wonderful memories of cheering with Karen. She always had a smile on her face and always had such a pleasant attitude. My prayers will be with the family!
I am so very sorry to hear of Karens passing. She was such a special person, full of enthusiasm for life and kindness for everyone. I feel very fortunate to have worked with Karen for the Greater Washington Association of Professional Associates. The organization was well served under her leadership and her contributions over the many years were innumerable. She will be deeply missed.
Karen and I were coworkers at Crestar from 1995-1997. I was always impressed with her ability to explain concepts and her obvious intelligence. She was a complete professional and I know her coworkers will miss her.
We last saw Karen & Scott at Wegmans in Gainesville, VA on one of their trips back from a UVA football game. UVA held a special place in her heart. She was so full of laughter. Our exchange of warm stories was so uplifting. She will be deeply missed. Our love goes out to Scott and her family.
I am so very sorry for your loss. Karen was such a respected colleague and will be missed by so many people. Please accept my condolences.
Karen was a wonderful boss one could ever have. She was down to earth , very personable and sincere. She was full of life and laughter. I shall always cherish her memories and her love for adventure and spending time with family and friends. She fought hard till the end which goes with her strong willed character and I pray her soul may rest in peace.
