Kathleen Ann Donohue Green, a devoted mother, grandmother and Navy wife, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026 at the age of 76. A resident of Oak Hill, Virginia, Kate was born on May 15, 1950 to Grace and Tom Donohue of Rydal, Pennsylvania, joining brothers Tom and Bob and sister Bonnie.
Kate will be remembered for her strength of character, love of family, care for others, beauty, and sense of humor. She was devoted to her family, providing a welcoming home, hurricane shelter, unceasing encouragement, love and support throughout her life. A magnificent hostess and cook, she provided many dinners and celebrations for friends, family and official Navy events. Kate acted in several television features and motion pictures, enjoyed dance, piano and guitar and ran in the Marine Corps Marathon in her fifties.
Kate attended Bishop McDevitt High School in Wyncote, Pennsylvania and D’Youville College in Buffalo, New York. She travelled the world with her naval officer husband, particularly enjoying Tuscany, South America and Antarctica.
She is survived by her loving husband Kevin, children Sean Green (Laura), Chris Green (Nancy), Lauren Brauninger (Zandy); grandchildren Shannon Green, Maggie Green, Natty Green, Caden Green, Rocky Green, Henry Green, Ellie Brauninger and Loie Brauninger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Reston, Virginia on June 12th with interment at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
