Kathleen Tyrrell, 76, of Fairfax, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025. Born on
March 22, 1949, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Kathy was a compassionate and dedicated
healthcare professional whose kindness touched everyone she met.

Kathy graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in Jersey City and later earned her degree at George Mason University. Her career in healthcare spanned several decades, most of which
were spent at Prince William Hospital in Manassas, Virginia. As a Critical Care nurse and later Director of Case Management, Kathy’s leadership was defined by empathy, wisdom, and
unwavering dedication to her patients and colleagues. She was a mentor and a source of
strength to many, known for her selflessness and deep compassion.

Kathleen is survived by her loving daughter, Shannon Dallas, son-in-law Bill Dallas, and
cherished grandson Will Dallas. She also leaves behind her beloved brother, Kevin Hayes,
nephew Bernard Hayes, and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in
death by her parents, Henry and Frances Hayes, and her brother Patrick Hayes. Kathy was also
preceded in death by her former husband, James Tyrrell, with whom she shared a family and a
deep respect.

A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at Windy Knoll Farm in Nokesville, Virginia, on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association.

Kathleen’s legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew her.
