April 13, 1947 ~ April 26, 2024

Resided in: Reston, Va

On Friday April 26, 2024 Larry’s ship weathered the rough seas and crossed the bar to rest in heaven’s port.

“For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.”

Larry enjoyed family and sports as a youth. He excelled at baseball and always carried found memories of his father coaching their championship teams throughout his childhood. As a young adult he enjoyed serving on the local police force and later in the US Navy during the Vietnam war. After his military service Larry worked for many government contractors and spent a majority of his career serving at the Federal Aviation Administration as a computer scientist. Larry was always willing to give more than he took and enjoyed supporting the mission, always with a smile on his face.

One of Larry’s greatest legacies is his commitment to his family and friends. He spent many years volunteering in various roles for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in support of his children. Larry made many life long friendships in scouts, which became a part of his extended family. He made time to listen and talk with all he encountered. His smiling face made a lasting impression that many have shared will be missed.

Larry is welcomed into heaven by his loving wife Deborah Ann Pugh and his parents, Jim Pugh and Tody Pugh. He will be watching over his children James Timothy Ricker Jr (Rebecca Hopp-Ricker), Kimberly Jeanne Pugh (Dale Johnson), and Kerry Laurette Martin (Tre Martin), and his grandchildren Nicholas Ricker, Autumn Johnson, Steafán Pugh, Bella Martin, Mary Martin, and Zoey Martin.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations be made to the Headstrong Project in honor of Larry Alan Pugh https://theheadstrongproject.org

His family will have a Memorial celebration at O’Sullivans, 3207 Washington Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201 on June 23, 2024 from 1 to 4 PM.

He was a giving soul always trying to help others. “I have done what was mine to do; may Christ teach you what you are to do.” Thank you for your service to your family and your country.

“We honor a life that was lived to the full, we honor a spirit, now free. You’ll long be remembered, whenever we say: Fair winds and a following sea!”
