Lella Marie Blevins

Lella Marie Blevins, 97, of Vienna, Virginia, passed away on July 13, 2026.

Marie was born on November 19,1928, to Garrett Clute Sanborn and Mary Lella Sanborn in Oakton, Virginia. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School in Alexandria, Virginia.

Marie was employed as an administrative secretary for many companies through the years, beginning her career with the American Red Cross, and then retiring from the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in 1996 at the age of 68. She worked part-time for another 10 years at the GC. Marie was always a hard-working, valued employee.

When Marie was 21, she met and fell quickly in love with her future husband, Baxter Blevins. They soon married in 1951 and went on to have four children: Lynn, Cynthia, Cheryl, and Baxter, Jr.

Marie was the oldest of five children and was predeceased by her husband, parents, one grandchild (Billy Onks), and siblings: Melvin Sanborn, Margaret Randall, Charlie Sanborn, and Alice Reinoehl.

She is survived by her children: Lynn (Bill) Liers, Cyndy (Dave) Onks, Cheryl Baird, and Baxter (Diana) Blevins. Marie is also survived by five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.

A viewing is scheduled for Thursday, July 23, from 1l:00 AM-12:00 noon at the Money and King Funeral Home, 171 Maple Ave W, Vienna, Virginia. A graveside service will be held immediately following at 1:00 PM at the Mount Comfort Cemetery, 6600 South King’s Highway in Alexandria, Virigina.
