Lennie Isabelle Umaña-Campos

With heavy hearts, we announce the loss of Lennie Isabelle Umaña-Campos who passed away after a difficult battle with cancer. She passed peacefully on June 13, 2026 surrounded by her daughter and sisters.

“Lennie” Leonor Isabelle Umaña-Campos was born on November 14, 1947 in the city of San Miguel, El Salvador to the late Maria Isabelle Campos-Umaña and Juan Antonio Umaña. Second oldest of seven siblings, she is survived by her four sisters; Maria “Carmencita” Umaña, Juanita Umaña Palladino, Teresa Umaña-Ventura, Blanca Aleman and two brothers; Jorge Ivan Umaña and Victor Umaña. She is survived by her beloved daughter; Kay Cynthia Pelaez and two grandchildren; Maximus Pelaez and Alexander Pelaez.

Lennie was an elementary school teacher in San Miguel and moved to San Salvador to work as an Assistant Social Worker at the City Hall. At the age of 22 she left San Salvador for the United States and later achieved a successful career as a Labor Certifications Specialist in New York City. Lennie lived a life defined by love, resilience, generosity and devotion to her family. She touched the lives of many though her kindness, strength, and unwavering support of those she loved.

Lennie enjoyed exploring diversified hobbies and attended college part-time to study philosophy, literature and art. She loved gardening, decorating, photography, reading, traveling and music.

Lennie’s legacy lives on through the family and friends whose lives she enriched. Though her passing leaves a profound void, her love, wisdom, and strength will remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Visiting for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 18^th, 2026 from 4:00pm through 7:00pm followed by a Catholic funeral service at 7:00pm in the chapel.

Con profundo pesar, anunciamos la pérdida de Lennie Isabelle Umana-Campos, quien falleció después de una difícil batalla contra el cáncer. Partió en paz el 13 de junio de 2026, rodeada de su hija y sus hermanas.

“Lennie” Leonore Isabelle Umana-Campos nació el 14 de noviembre de 1947 en la ciudad de San Miguel, El Salvador, hija de los ya fallecidos María Isabelle Campos-Umana y Juan Antonio Umana. Fue la segunda mayor de siete hermanos. Le sobreviven sus cuatro hermanas: María “Carmencita” Umana, Juanita Umana Palladino, Teresa Umana-Ventura y Blanca Alemán; así como sus dos hermanos: Jorge Iván Umana y Víctor Umana. También le sobreviven su querida hija, Kay Cynthia Pelaez, y sus dos nietos, Maximus Pelaez y Alexander Pelaez.

Lennie fue maestra de escuela primaria en San Miguel y posteriormente se trasladó a San Salvador para trabajar como Asistente de Trabajo Social en la Alcaldía. A la edad de 22 años emigró a los Estados Unidos, donde más tarde desarrolló una exitosa carrera como Especialista en Certificaciones Laborales en la ciudad de Nueva York. Lennie vivió una vida definida por el amor, la resiliencia, la generosidad y la dedicación a su familia. Con su bondad, fortaleza y apoyo incondicional a quienes amaba, tocó la vida de muchas personas.

Lennie disfrutaba de una amplia variedad de pasatiempos y asistió a la universidad a tiempo parcial para estudiar filosofía, literatura y arte. Le apasionaban la jardinería, la decoración, la fotografía, la lectura, los viajes y la música.

El legado de Lennie perdura a través de la familia y los amigos cuyas vidas enriqueció. Aunque su partida deja un profundo vacío, su amor, sabiduría y fortaleza permanecerán para siempre en los corazones de quienes tuvieron la dicha de conocerla.

La visita para familiares y amigos se llevará a cabo el jueves 18 de junio de 2026, de 4:00 p. m. a 7:00 p. m., seguida de un servicio fúnebre católico a las 7:00 p. m. en la capilla.
