Leroy K. Wiswesser

leroy wiswesser
Lee Wiswesser passed away peacefully early Christmas morning, December 25, 2014 after a valiant, uncomplaining, 10 year struggle against the debilitating affects of Parkinson's disease. Born in Reading, PA Lee's family moved to Washington, D.C. during his early school years. He grew up in the Eastern Market and the grounds of our Nations' Capitol Building often provided the background for him and his best friends to create their own special adventures. Lee's career as a cartographer spanned 37 years of service with the Defense Mapping Agency, from which he retired in 1987. His main interest throughout his adult life was art. He was an avid art show/gallery visitor as well as an enthusiastic and skilled painter. Antique cars and car shows were a later addition to his interests as well as sailing on the Chesapeake Bay. Throughout his life, Lee was an unfailingly kind, helpful and gentle person and he will be very much missed by his relatives, neighbors, and friends. He is survived only by his wife of 52 years, Katherine. Those who may wish to pay a personal farewell to Lee may do so at Money and King Funeral Home on Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 3 to 5 p.m.; with a brief tribute to his life following at 5 p.m. His wife, Katherine will be available. If you desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to a charity of your choice. Burial will be private.
