Dear Cheryl, Jennifer, Andres and Lorelle – Just wanted to let you know how very sad I was to hear about Les. Such a quiet, gentle but strong spirit!! I know that he had had alot of pain and discomfort in the past many years and am glad that he no longer has to endure that but will miss him. Know that you are all in my prayers. I hope to be able to give you all hugs in person one of these days soon…. In His Love and With my Heart…. Ann
Dear Cheryl, Les was a good friend in high school,at ST. Joes in Hays, and he played lead trumpet in the band, and I played second lead. He was a good friend, and always wanted to help those who needed it. Our sympathy to you and your family.
I want to extend my deepest sympathy to Leslie’s family. I knew Leslie in grade and high school and yes, it saddens all of us to hear that another classmate is no longer with us. Leslie was so very smart and I admired his brilliance. Carol Schukman Baker

Cheryl, My thoughts are with you and Jennifer. I didn’t know Les well, but I was struck by his quiet good nature and always thought that the two of you were a beautiful pair of gentle souls. Mary
Our sincere condolences to the family of my good friend Leslie Dreiling. He was my neighbor in Hays, KS. We played a lot of basketball together, shared a ride to school, went to jazz concerts and played in the band. Such a wonderful young man; glad to have known him and shared time together in our youth.
My deepest sympathies. I worked with Les and his contributions will last for generations.
Your Family will be in our prayers and thank you for your efforts in fighting terrorism and making the world a safer place…
For ten years, Les was a colleague, a mentor and a friend. Throughout my life, I have been always interested in the people who are the explorers—scientists, philosophers, anyone who seeks to know. I have also always been interested in the creative process and the creators—writers, inventors, artists, composers, designers. I am also intrigued by individuals who have rarefied forms of knowledge, and especially those who come up with their own unique and interesting ways to acquire that knowledge. My heroes are those who are unselfish, serve others, and make the world a better place. Les was all of these. And how he did it was how the very best teachers do it—by going beyond just being a one-way transmission of information, to learning from and being inspired to move in new directions by his students. Les was ever the teacher, ever the learner, giving and receiving, in a continual cycle—that is his legacy. This is how we should all be.
Cheryl, My deepest sympathies. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Sandy Kusselson
