Loretta was my “other Mom”. I was welcomed into the Hartigan family at 13 and have many, many memories over the years that include this wonderful family. Loretta is at the heart of all those memories. Whether it was making pans of lasagna, laughing at our stories, managing my wedding, celebrating the birth of my children or visiting in Colorado – she always brought grace and love to my world. She will be truly missed but will live on the the legacy of her children and her grandchildren.
God Bless all of Loretta and Andy’s family. It was such a long battle and you all persevered. On behalf of all of Loretta’s many, many friends here in Williamsburg, VA, we will miss Loretta dearly and willl keep her family in our prayers.
We were stationed in Stutgart Germany and was assigned in the J-6 office with Andy. We became very good friends with them. We had always wondered how she managed that beautiful household and family. Her sense of humor was one her outstanding features and her ability to make friends was another one of her outstanding attributes. We were so sadden when we saw the Obituary in the Post. May God embrace and comfort her. She will be missed dearly. The Saldi Family.
Dear Andy and family. I remember all of the wonderful times Stu and I shared with you and Loretta and your amazing family in Northern Virginia and then you welcomed us to Williamsburg many years later. May God continue to bless your family and keep you in His care. I am sure Stu is welcoming Loretta with open hands!!!! Love, Barbara MacKenzie
To Andy and all of Loretta’s loved ones, Loretta was gracious and kind and as lovely spiritually as physically. She was always smiling. I am the wet neighbor that Andy and Loretta rescued from Hurricane Isabel’s wind and rain. They generously provided me with food and shelter for many days. Of course they were generous at many other times too. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Look at the stars, How they shine and glow, Some of the stars died A long time ago. Still they shine In the evening skies, For you see starlight, like love, never dies. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Andy, May you find peace and comfort in your loving memories.
