Louis R. DeRosa

Louis R. DeRosa, 89, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Lou was born on June 30, 1927 in Mt. Kisco, New York to Louis and Louisa DeRosa. Lou always wanted to serve his country and travel the world, so in 1951 he joined the CIA. As a logistics officer, Lou had several tours of assignments to include South East Asia, Africa, and Europe. Lou was honored with the CIA's Career Intelligence Medal at the time of his retirement in 1987. Lou continued to work for various companies as a contractor until 2006. Lou's passion for seeing the world took him to 89 countries. Lou was a life long avid tennis player winning bronze medals in the 2008 and 2011 Northern Virginia Senior Olympics (80-84 age group). Lou is survived by his wife of 55 years, Geertruida; his son Gregory DeRosa and his wife Karen of Oak Hill, Va; his daughter Manon Maddox and her husband Mitchell of Cleveland, OH; his five grandchildren Gregory and Danielle DeRosa; Harrison, Alexandra and Avery Maddox; and one great-grandchild Viooltje (Violet) Maddox. Lou will be inurned at a Columbarium at a later date. The family will be holding a private celebration of Lou's life. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Lou may send remembrances to the Poor Clare Sisters Monastery of mary, 2505 Stonehedge Drive, Alexandria, Va 22306.
