LTC Shelby A. Fowler Jr., RET of Reston, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his loving wife Donna P. Fowler and children, Tanya French, Eric Fowler and wife Deborah, Ashley Seaman and husband Tim. Shelby had six grandchildren; Amber, Andrew, Meghan, Bailey, Kara and Marissa. Also surviving are his brother Charles E. Fowler and wife Suzie, and their children Chris and Cathy. His parents, Shelby A. Fowler Sr. and Dorothy Turner Fowler preceded him in death.

Shelby was born in Jonesboro, LA on September 26, 1943 and was raised in Slaughter, LA. He is a graduate of Zachary High School and an LSU alumni, class of 1965. Shelby served in the US Army Signal Corp for 20 years, and was later employed by BDM in California. He moved the family to Virginia where he retired in Reston from Booze Allen Hamilton.

Shelby loved a good adventure. He became a licensed pilot and a certified scuba diver and enjoyed traveling with Donna in his RV or going on a cruise. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. At home you would find him reading a good mystery, surfing the net or rooting on the Saints. Shelby never missed an LSU football game. "Geaux Tigers!" Most of all, he was a man of faith and was a devoted husband, father and "PawPaw".

Shelby was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Relatives and friends are invited to Shelby's Life Celebration at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave, Vienna, VA 22180 on Wednesday, February 17 from 6-8 PM and where a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 18 at 11:00 AM.
